Assigning, swapping and locking tables

Most of the time you do not have to do anything: the automatic table assignment picks a table itself. But sometimes you want to take over — a guest asks for the window, a party has grown, or no table was found at all. You do that in the floorplan viewer.

Assigning a table

When a reservation says No table assigned, click Assign and pick a table from the list. The list only shows tables that are free at that moment and match the party size.

Moving a guest

Click Change on the reservation and pick the new table. If the party is already seated, the running reservation moves along with them.

Locking a table

With Lock table you fix that this reservation stays at this table. The automatic planning leaves a locked table alone, even if the reservation changes afterwards. Use it when you made a deliberate choice: a birthday by the window, a wheelchair near the entrance. Unlock table reverses it.

The same happens automatically once a guest has been checked in or the reservation is finished: those assignments are no longer moved either.

Unlinking from a group

If a reservation sits at a table combination and you want it out, use Unlink from group.

Changing party size or options

From the reservation's detail panel you can adjust the Party size and the Options, and with Edit preferences update the seating preference and the extra questions. Handy when two extra people turn up at the door.

When it does not work

i-Reserve reports it when an action does not go through — for example Assigning table failed or Move failed. Usually the table is already occupied at that moment, or the party does not fit within the capacity. A separate message exists for the case where the table was updated but the booking status was not; check the reservation itself in that case.

Rights

You need the menu_confmod_floorplan right for the viewer. On top of that your regular booking rights apply: without the right to change a booking you cannot assign or move anything here.
