Adding walk-ins and reservations on the floorplan

Two people are at the door without a reservation. In the floorplan viewer you seat them in a few clicks, without first creating a booking in another screen.

Seating a walk-in

1. Click Add walk-in.
2. Leave Booking type on Walk-in (now).
3. Fill in the Party size.
4. Pick a table. The list only shows what is free and fits; if you see No table for 4p, nothing suitable is available at this moment.
5. Optionally fill in a Name. Leave it empty and it becomes an unnamed walk-in.
6. Click Add & check-in.

The guest appears as seated on the floorplan straight away.

A reservation for later

If someone calls for tonight, set Booking type to Reservation (start time). You then also fill in a Start time and finish with Save reservation. The reservation appears on the floorplan as planned; the guest checks in later.

When it does not work

• Pick a table first or Choose the number of guests — a field is still missing.
• No table available for this party size — everything is occupied or nothing fits. See whether a table combination helps, or seat the guest at a later time.
• Link an object to this floorplan first — the floorplan is not attached to any object yet. That is a setting for an administrator; without that link i-Reserve does not know which product you are booking.

Rights

You need the menu_confmod_floorplan right, plus your regular right to create and change bookings.
