- Floor plan
The floor plan lets you draw your room and have i-Reserve keep track of who sits where. You create a floorplan, place tables on it, and for every reservation i-Reserve automatically looks for a table that fits. In the live viewer you see, for any moment, which table is free, who is seated and who is still to arrive.
The module is only visible when Floor plan is active in your licence. When it is off, you will not see the screens or the menu.
The concepts
Floorplan
The canvas you draw on: a width and height in pixels, optionally a background image (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or SVG) and optionally the real room size in metres. When you upload a background, the pixel size follows that image. Each floorplan belongs to one location and can be active or inactive. You can add notes to it (in Markdown), for instance service instructions.
Zone
A group of tables within a floorplan: window, terrace, lounge. A zone has a name, a colour and an Outdoor tick. The order of the zones is the walk-in order: the sequence in which zones are filled when a guest has no preference.
Table
A table is round or rectangular and has a name, a capacity from minimum to maximum, a buffer before and after in minutes (cleaning and re-laying time), a zone, tags and optionally its own colour. Outside the capacity a reservation drops out: a table for 2 to 4 will not get a party of six.
Table combination
Two or more tables that can be pushed together, with their own capacity and a setup time in minutes. This is an explicit list: only the combinations you define are used. Tables that are not part of a combination are never merged automatically.
Linked object
Per floorplan you record which objects' reservations land on this plan. Per object you can specify required table tags: only tables carrying all of those tags are then eligible for that object's bookings.
Guest preference
The choice your guest sees — for example Terrace or Inside — decoupled from your internal zoning. You link each preference to the zones it covers. When booking through the website the choice appears as soon as there is more than one preference.
Assignment
The link between a reservation and a table, with four states: unassigned, planned, seated and finished. An assignment can also be locked, so the automatic planning no longer moves it.
Where do I find it?
Setting up happens in the configuration, under Modules: Floorplans, Guest preferences and Floorplans - Settings. That requires the menu_confmod_floorplan right.
Day-to-day work happens in the sidebar under Tables. There you find the Guest list (menu_guestlist right), Find tables (menu_floorplan_tablesearch right) and the live viewer per floorplan.
On a booking dashboard you can also show the Booking mini floorplan block: a snapshot of the floorplan at the time of that particular booking.
