Setting up guest preferences

- Configuratie - Modules - Klant-voorkeuren

A guest preference is the seating choice presented to your guest — Terrace, Inside, Quiet — and it is decoupled from your internal zoning. That way you can have five zones inside and still give your guest just two choices. You manage them through Configuration > Modules > Guest preferences, or with the button at the top right of the Floorplans screen.
Zones first, preferences after
A preference refers to internal zones. If no zones exist yet, the screen says so: create zones on a floorplan first, then group them here.
Creating a preference
- Click New preference.
- Fill in the Name: the short label the guest picks, for example Terrace.
- Under Description, add a public explanation if you want to show one (optional).
- Under Internal remark you put a note for yourself. It is never shown to guests.
- Click Save.
Translations
You first fill in the text for the current language. The Translations button opens the same fields for every front-end language. Auto-translate fills the empty languages through Google Translate, based on a language you have already filled in. Leave a language empty and it falls back to another one when the guest sees it — so do check the automatic translations, because this is text your customer reads.
Linking zones
Click Linked zones and tick every internal zone this preference covers. One zone may belong to several preferences: a quiet corner inside can sit under both Inside and Quiet.
What the guest sees
When booking through the website the choice appears in the confirmation step, with No preference as the first option. The choice is only shown when more than one preference exists — with a single preference there is nothing to choose. The chosen preference is visible on the booking dashboard and counts in the automatic table assignment as a bonus, not as a hard requirement.
Deleting a preference
The internal zones themselves simply remain.

You need the menu_confmod_floorplan right.
