Changing the text of your confirmation email

The default text works, but it does not sound like your place. The emails your guest receives are templates you edit yourself.

What to replace and what to leave

A template contains variables: the guest's name, the date, the party size. Leave those — they are filled in when the email is sent. The text around them is yours.

What we recommend mentioning

• How long you hold a table. "We hold your table for 15 minutes" prevents an argument at the door.
• How to cancel or change. A guest who does not know how to cancel, does not cancel.
• Parking or access, if that is a thing where you are.

Test on your phone

Make a reservation in your own name and read the email on a phone, not on your monitor. That is where your guest reads it too.
