Placing tables in the editor

In the editor you place the tables on the floorplan. You open it from Configuration > Modules > Floorplans with Open editor, or straight after the wizard has created a new floor plan.

Two modes

There are two buttons at the top. In Tables you work with the tables themselves. In Layout you draw the fixed fittings: walls, doors, bar, kitchen and toilet. That layout exists to make the plan recognisable — nothing is booked on it and the automatic table assignment ignores it.

Adding a table

1. Drag Rect. table or Round table from the palette onto the floorplan.
2. Click the table; the Table properties panel opens on the right.
3. Fill in the fields (see below).

Tables may not overlap: drop one on top of another and the editor refuses the placement with the message Tables may not overlap.

Table properties

• Name — what your staff calls it: T1, Window 3, Bar left.
• Min and Max — the capacity. A party outside this range will not be assigned to this table. Do not set Min to 1 on your large tables, or a couple may end up at a table for eight.
• Buffer before (min) and Buffer after (min) — re-laying and cleaning time. That time counts as occupied, so a table with a ten-minute after-buffer is only free again ten minutes after the guests leave.
• Zone — which zone the table is in.
• Custom colour — optional, overriding the zone colour.
• Tags — properties of this table: vip, wheelchair, grill. Take care: when you specify required tags on an object, only tables carrying all of those tags qualify, and a table without tags then drops out. Tags are a hard filter, not a preference.

Scale

With Scale you adjust the size of the tables on this floorplan. The scale applies to the existing tables and to everything you drop afterwards.

Keyboard shortcuts

• Delete — remove the selected table.
• R — rotate 15 degrees; Shift+R — rotate 90 degrees.
• Scroll — zoom in and out.
• Cmd/Ctrl + drag — pan the floorplan.

Deleting a table

i-Reserve asks for confirmation and then reports how many upcoming bookings were released: those land in the problem queue, without a table, waiting for a new assignment. If someone is seated at the table right now, the deletion does not go through.
